DONOR COMMUNITY

My Trees has expanded its donor network. We are excited to announce that we have launched a partnership with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, who support our restoration work and carbon project development. We still work with long term partners such as One Tree Planted (OTP), as well as being recognised as one of Africa’s top 100 tree planting programs by the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100). Additionally, we have been supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Zimbabwe, Danish Church Aid (DCA), the Beit Trust, the Great Plains Foundacon, the British band Coldplay, the Rieschel Foundacon, USAID, and the Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF).

My Trees is one of 12 winners of the Carbon Uplink Challenge, a World Economic Forum Initiative to link funding to innovative, credible projects trying to combat climate change. We have partnered with the US Forestry Service, who are assisting the Trust with improving our seedling quality and production process. My Trees is also a DIY partner with TIST (The International Small Group & Tree Planting Program) who have successfully implemented similar projects to My Trees in India, Kenya and Uganda, and are helping My Trees with technical aspects of the carbon model.

INSTITUTIONS

We have partnership agreements with national bodies such as the Forestry Commission, Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, and the National Herbarium and Botanic Gardens. Before starting a project or operation in an area, My Trees ensures that we always have the support of the local rural district council and traditional leadership and have memoranda of understanding in place with these institutions. 

My Trees also has the support of several important partners from the private sector: The Rift Valley Group, Cicada Carbon, the Sustainable Afforestation Association, Fuchs, CABS, Nedbank, SPAR, and Spear Capital.
